Book Sale Saturday

On Saturday September 10th we will be having our final book sale at the library. Our special pricing is all hard back books "buy one get one free" equal or lesser value. The sale runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. We hope you can attend!

It's a GOLD PARTY August 24 2011

While it's been a bit since this blog has been updated, The Friends of the Hawley Library have been very busy. Our main fundraiser this year has been our monthly book sales.

Our next event is a GOLD PARTY - something new for us. On Wednesday, August 24th from 5 to 7 at the library we are holding a gold, silver and old coin buying party. Light refreshments will be served. Items that will be evaluated include gold jewelry, silver coins (old) sterling silver pieces such as silver ware and silver jewelry. So take a look around for that single earring or class ring you haven't worn since you graduated from high school. Gold prices have risen to unexpected highs so now is the time to see just what that gold and silver is worth. A portion of the buyers commission will be donated to the Friends of the Library. We hope to see you!

Summer Book Sales

Our first summer books sale will be held Saturday, May 15th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the library's lower level. All paperback fiction books will be 25 cents each or 5 for $1. We have a wide variety of paperback fiction including many books by James Patterson and Nora Roberts as well as Oprah book club books and many former best sellers. We hope you will be able to visit the library and get some books for your summer reading.
Other books sales will be held June 12, July 24, August 7 and September 11.

Book Sale Saturday

We are having a book sale this Saturday, January 16 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Hawley Library. Paperback books will be 4 for $1 and all other books are 50% off. This is a great opportunity to purchase some books and an almost too good to be true price.

A Busy Summer

This Saturday, September 26th is our final "Summer Sale" at the Library. All paperback, hardback and audio-books are 20% off our already low price! The sale is from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We hope to see you!

Book Sale Revised Dates

Due to the anticipated crowds in Hawley on May 30th we will not hold a book sale on that date.

Activities for the Friends

As spring is here despite the cool temperatures, the Friends are busy planing our spring/summer activities.

• We will be participating in the craft sale at Bingham Park on June 13. Our table will hold hand crafted items made by friends of our Library. We are hoping to receive additional donations. If you have a hand crafted item you would like to donate it can be dropped off at the Library. Please attach your name to the item as we want to be sure to acknowledge your donation. Thanks you for your support
• Tentative dates for spring/summer book sales are April 25, May 9 and 30, June 13 and 27, July 11 and 25, August 8 and 22, and September 12 and 26. Please check back at the blog for further information on what the "sale" will be. We anticipate that all sales will be from 10 AM to 2 PM.
• Our public meeting is sent for June 24th at 5:00 PM at the Library. This meeting generally lasts about one hour - you are cordially invited.
